INTRODUCTION
The 12th edition of Serielizados Fest, International TV Series Festival, will take place from November 3 to 12, 2024 in Barcelona. Since its inception, Serielizados Fest has been selecting series from diverse origins and formats to shape the core of its programming. The festival is divided into different sections and includes competitive elements in various sections.
From March 26, 2025 to June 30, 2025, we are launching the current Open Call with the aim of receiving projects that fit into our programming and its different sections. The festival will provide a registration form to centralize the submissions.
During the festival, there will be in-person events and screenings in Barcelona, and part of our selection of series and documentaries will be available in a limited and geoblocked manner on the VOD platform Filmin. The titles selected for online viewing on Filmin will only be available to users within Spain during the festival dates. The Serielizados Fest is open to professional guests and the press, but our main goal is to reach the general TV-loving audience who want to discover the latest from around the world.
SECTIONS
- International Competition: Productions from outside Spain, innovative and recent, produced from 2024 onwards. They must consist of a first season that has not been released in Spain or Catalonia, in any other festival or platform/channel. The eligible series will be titles whose episodes exceed 20 minutes in duration and encompass any type of format or genre. The section establishes an official competition in which various awards will be granted. The festival reserves the right for the titles participating in this section to be part of the festival’s online selection or not.
- National Competition: Productions originating from Spain and recent, produced from 2024 onwards. They must consist of a first season that has not been released in Spain or Catalonia, in any other festival or platform/channel. The eligible series will be titles whose episodes exceed 20 minutes in duration and encompass any type of format or genre. The section establishes an official competition in which various awards will be granted. The titles participating in this section will not be part of the festival’s online selection.
- International Panorama: Interesting discoveries, of recent production, between 2023 and 2025. This section is non-competitive and consists of international series whose episodes exceed 20 minutes in duration and encompass any type of format or genre, as well as being titles unpublished in Spain.
- Documentary Films: Section consisting of documentary feature films about TV performers, writers, comedians, or about pop culture related to television consumption (some examples of previously selected documentaries: Chuck Norris vs Communism, Doctor Who Am I, The Problem with Apu, I am Richard Pryor or The Sopranos Sessions). Preferably documentaries unpublished in Spain.
- Short Form: Recently produced series, between 2023 and 2025, with episodes below 20 minutes in duration. Both national and international series are accepted, preferably unpublished in Spain.
AWARDS
The Serielizados Fest will award different prizes in its competitive sections, awarded by juries formed by a minimum of three people. The final composition of each jury will be announced in the days leading up to the festival. The festival reserves the option to modify the number of awards based on the final selection of titles. The different awards are detailed below:
- International Official Section – Jury Awards: Granted by a jury composed of industry professionals from different fields and backgrounds such as screenwriters and showrunners, actors and actresses, specialized journalists, or producers and distributors, on the series that make up the International Official Section.

- Best screenplay
- National Official Section – Jury Awards: Granted by a jury composed of industry professionals from different fields and backgrounds such as screenwriters and showrunners, actors and actresses, specialized journalists, or producers and distributors, on the series that make up the National Official Section.
- Best series
- Best performance
- Best screenplay
- Youth Jury Award: Granted by a jury composed of students who will view one of the competitive sections of the Festival and award the Youth Jury Award to the best series in that section.
- Public Award: Granted by popular vote by the audience attending the in-person screenings of the competitive sections of the festival.
REGISTRATION
The submission of projects is free and must be done through this form.
To be eligible to participate, series over 35 minutes must include at least the first 2 episodes; Series under 35 minutes must include at least the first 3 episodes. Works in progress are accepted, with advanced progress. This production status must be indicated at the time of registration, in the corresponding section. The section in which the project wants to be registered must also be specified, although. if selected, the Programming Committee reserves the right to decide the final section in which the work will be included.
The person submitting the project and including their details in the form must have the proper authorization to do so. At the time the form is filled out, the terms and conditions of the festival registration are accepted. Filling out the form implies sending viewing links (which may be password-protected) in order to evaluate the project. Registering in this Open Call phase does not imply final participation in the Festival at any time. The Festival reserves the right to make the final selection based on the programming criteria set by the Programming Committee.
The festival accepts drama, comedy, animation, or documentary series. All series and feature films must include English subtitles, except for projects that are already in Catalan, Spanish, or English.

PARTICIPATION IN CASE OF SELECTION
The producer or distributor of the selected series and documentaries will be contacted and will receive an entry form. Serielizados Fest will also offer a proposal regarding the section’s direction and the day, time, location, and conditions for in-person screening in Barcelona, as well as the potential online screening for the approval of the producer/distributor. Selection in the festival implies acceptance of the Serielizados Fest Rules and Regulations.
Once selected, the series and documentaries must provide the Festival with the following high-quality promotional materials: photographs, posters, press kits, trailers or teasers, for the Festival’s promotional use. The Festival reserves the right not to return these materials.
All screenings at Serielizados Fest with original language other than Spanish or Catalan must be subtitled in these languages. Therefore, participants are required to provide the Festival with English or Spanish subtitle tracks or separate dialogue lists. If English tracks are not available, the option of other languages for translation into Spanish and Catalan will be considered.
- Screening Material: Projects selected for the 12th edition of Serielizados Fest must send the agreed number of episodes (or in the case of documentary films, the complete film) in digital format, with the following specifications:

- Projects for in-person screening: Master ProRes HD (or UHD) 422 with the original version in 5.1 + 2.0 at 25 or 24 fps. Depending on whether the screening venue allows the DCP format, the Festival will proceed to create it from the provided Master ProRes copy. If a DCP has already been created previously, its use will also be considered.
- Projects for online screening: Codec: H264 | Format: MP4 | Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 4/3 | Height: 1080px | AVG Bitrate: 20MBPS | Sound: 5.1 AAC 48Hz 320 or stereo. (Only 1 mixed audio track) | Frame rate: 24 or 25fps.
In the event of providing a physical copy for screening, the Festival undertakes to return the copy as soon as possible after the end of the event. The Festival organization reserves the right to keep the digital files used.
The Rules and Regulations of Serielizados Fest may be modified by the organization in case of an emergency, prior to the 12th edition of Serielizados Fest.
