The 9th Serielizados Fest pays tribute to one of the most mythical sitcoms of Catalan television in a session open to the public with the starring cast of the series

Som les Teresines, les més bones veïnes que poguessis a una escala trobar… Sempre dispostes a donar-te respostes, a deixar-te alguna cosa o a donar-te un cop de mà.

From April 2 to June 23, 1992, TV3 broadcasted a series produced by La Cubana, a theater company born in Sitges a little more than 10 years ago. That fiction was called Teresina S.A. but it would be known all over the world as Les Teresines. At a time when we were getting British and American sitcoms centered on the lives of romanticized families (Forced Parents, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) or on the relationships of a group of bizarre friends (Seinfeld, The Young Ones), La Cubana found it ideal to narrate the day-to-day life of a trio of retired, single sisters from the neighborhood of Gràcia. The rest is Catalan television history.

Teresina, Maria Teresa and Tere Carbonell shared an apartment in Verdi Street, where together with the rest of the neighbors -each one more picturesque than the other-, they spent the day gossiping and working in the underground economy, preparing all kinds of orders at home. Teresinas is considered a cult series and a small tribute to the mothers, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends and shopkeepers.

The organization of Serielizados Fest wanted to pay tribute to this emblem of television culture with a special session where we will watch an episode of the series on the big screen and then hear all types of stories from the artists of La Cubana (performers and screenwriters) who gave life to Les Teresines.

Screening of  the ‘Sant Jordi’ episode.
There will be a subsequent discussion, moderated by journalist Oriol Puig Taulé, with the artistic team of the La Cubana series:

  • Jordi Milán, director, writer and actor.
  • Mercè Comes, actress who plays Teresina.
  • Mont Plans, actress who plays Maria Teresa.
  • Xavi Tena, actress who plays Rafa.
