Set in the early 1980s and based on the real-life figure of detective Jiří Markovič, the series narrates the capture and conviction of one of the most terrifying serial killers of the time in former Czechoslovakia, Ladislav Hojer.
In the style of the series Mindhunter, The Markovic Method: Hojer is set in a hostile and grim Prague at a time when a new and chilling phenomenon emerged on the streets: young sexual offenders with sadistic tendencies. It was precisely these individuals that Jiří Markovič tirelessly pursued throughout his long career.
The series not only delves into the investigation and capture of Ladislav Hojer and his unique connection with his investigator, but also weaves into each episode closed cases from different moments of Markovič’s career.
One of the most disturbing and rigorous crime series of the year.
