‘Húsó’

After going in and out of rehab since she was a teenager, Hekla enrolls in the School of Housewives to regain custody of her daughter. But will learning to knit, bake, and clean make her a fit mother?

Hekla has just come out of rehab… again. However, this time is different. While awaiting the court’s decision on whether she can retain permanent custody of her daughter, Hekla clings to a renewed sense of hope with the intention of using it to improve herself. She is optimistic and has high hopes about starting a new life after rehab.

However, her longtime social worker has other plans: she has enrolled Hekla in a new program for young women with addiction issues, at the Reykjavik School of Housewives, convincing her that this is the only right decision for her situation. The school not only offers her free accommodation but also teaches domestic management skills, which could be beneficial for regaining custody of her daughter and starting a new life.
