Tom and Linda are in their thirties and live in Belgium, on the border with France. He is a policeman, she is a esthetician and they are on the verge of bankruptcy.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, they embark on a get-rich-quick life insurance scam in an attempt to get a fresh start somewhere sunny. Their plan is going quite well… until everything goes wrong, when Philippe, a French gendarme with whom Linda is having an affair, starts investigating…
Des gens biens also tells the story of the rest of the people of a border town, a people who seem unable to face the evil that eats away at their community. The series comes signed by the creators of the international hit series The Break, showing us another example of Belgian talent: a mix of film noir and dry humor. The characters are ordinary people, sometimes ridiculous, but always sincere and touching.
