Los Making Of de DAMA: ‘I, addict’

Serielizados and DAMA present a new session of this masterclass series where creators analyze their own series in depth.

Serielizados returns to CASA SEAT with the series Los Making-of de DAMA, a set of masterclasses dedicated to storytelling pairs: director & screenwriter; screenwriter & editor; actor & director… where they intimately share how they crafted specific scenes, the key moments of filming, or what were the biggest challenges they faced during the creative process.

These educational and accessible activities are aimed at both experienced professionals and students in the audiovisual sector. A series of meetings where creators and audiovisual industry professionals will discuss the ins and outs and lesser-known aspects of the world of series.

Yo, adicto tells the true story of Javier Giner, an audiovisual professional who, at the age of 30, decides to voluntarily enter a rehabilitation center. Unable to cope with his existential anguish and the suffering he causes himself and others, he has spent years spiraling into a self-destructive addiction to alcohol, drugs, and sex. At his darkest moment, he makes the decision to seek professional help, driven by a desperate instinct for survival. Unknowingly, that decision will change his life, transforming him into a new person.

Based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Javier Giner, the series is created by him along with Aitor Gabilondo (Patria). Giner also directs the series with Elena Trapé (Las distancias, Els encantats, Celeste). The series stars a surprising Oriol Pla (Creatura, Tell Me Who I Am, The Day Tomorrow) and features a cast including Nora Navas, Àlex Brendemühl, Victoria Luengo, Ramón Barea, and Omar Ayuso, among others.

In this new session of the Making Of DAMA, which will take place on October 15th at 6:30 PM at CASA SEAT, we will speak with its creator, Javier Giner, the lead actor Oriol Pla, and Laura Rubirola, the series’ producer, about how they built this magnetic story of overcoming addiction to alcohol, drugs, and sex.
