Beauty is embarrassing is one of those documentaries that renews you from the inside. A breath of fresh air and positivism from the genius Wayne White, one of the artists who has marked the style of the craziest programs on American television, such as the children’s programs Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and Beakman’s World.
A tireless generator of icons that have become an important part of pop culture. Later, his word paintings with concise and often sarcastic text statements, finely crafted into paintings of ancient landscapes, have made him unique in the world of fine art.
The Wayne White we see in Beauty is Embarrassing shows us how to make art from humor and how to make art an optimistic and at the same time spectacular state of mind. Directed by documentary filmmaker Neil Berkeley (who also premieres the documentary Gilbert at this festival) that had its premiere at the 2016 Serielizados Fest and that we wanted to recover for the entire Filmin audience.
In addition to its previous passage through our festival, the documentary has also triumphed in festivals such as South By Southwest or Hot Docs.
